Povidone Iodine(PVP-I) Gauze Dressing
Povidone-iodine (PVP-I), also known as iodopovidone, is an antiseptic used for skin disinfection before and after surgery. Povidone Iodine Gauze Dressing (PVP-I) is a disposable sterile product made from paraffin wax containing povidone iodine and evenly attached to the mesh gauze.
Product Feature:
- Povidone iodine has the broadest spectrum of antimicrobial activity of the available antiseptics, and has a rapid and persistent microbicidal effect. It is active against Gram-positive and negative bacteria, bacterial spores, fungi, protozoa and several viruses.

It is a rather thin dressing that comes sandwiched between backing papers. It will usually require some incisions made to allow it to flex for parts of the body such as a finger or toe.

The dressing itself does not have adherent properties apart from the ability to absorb some moisture or blood, and is typically held in place using gauze and then bandage material.
- It can prevent the wound from being infected, protect wound and keep outside bacterials surrounding the wound.
- It has no stimulus and toxicity to skin, and it is durable and easily used.
- Non adherent to wound, no pain when change dressing, no secondary damage to the wound.
