Silicone contact layer is a silicone wound dressing that adheres gently to intact skin. The porous mesh design allows wound exudate to pass through to absorbent dressing materials. Helps reduce pain and risk of damage to the wound.

Silicone Wound Contact Layer Dressing are sterile, occlusive wound dressings made with a conformable, open mesh structure and gentle silicone adhesive. The dressings are used to facilitate fluid transfer and provide fixation and protection to the wound bed during dressing changes.

Feature:

• Provides a secure seal to wound sites to minimise risk of maceration.
• Good transparency to allow for easy wound inspection without dressing removal.
• Open mesh design enables excellent fluid management and transfer capabilities.
• Promotes undisturbed wound healing – can remain secured for up to 14 days.
• Non adhesive to moist wound and newly formed tissue, minimising trauma and discomfort.
• Does not dry out and prevents sticking of a secondary dressings to the wound site.

Application:

Silicone Wound Contact Layer is a primary dressing.A secondary absorbent dressing is required if exudate is present.In comparison with similar contact layers the Silicone Wound Contact Layer is shown to be more extensible, therefore making it more conforma.

Indications:

Use as a protective barrier between wound and outer dressing for a variety of wounds, including:

• Venous ulcers
• Pressure ulcers
• Dry to heavily exudating abrasions
• Surgical/trauma wounds
• 1st and 2nd degree burns
• Cuts and lacerations

Silicone contact layer is available in a variety of sizes and can be cut to shape and size to meet even your most demanding wound care needs. The transparent open mesh design has been optimised to facilitate fluid management, allowing for effective exudate removal and topical treatment application as well as wound inspection.

Silicone contact layer dressings are indicated for use as primary dressings on partial- and full-thickness wounds with minimal to heavy exudate, donor sites, and split-thickness skin grafts.
